The skeletons are out of the closet! Articulated skeletons, typically found in a science classroom, have surfaced in Lake Orion, Mi, at Moose Tree Studios, in preparation for the highly anticipated, Artistic Anatomy 1 year Professional Certificate Program. This course is designed for artists of all levels, ages High School to Adult.
“This is an unprecedented artistic anatomy course unlike any in the Midwest “, says Diane Heath, Director, of Heath Art, who is hosting the class in the Moose Tree Studio, an affiliate of Orion Art Center.
“The unique aspect of this course”, said Eugene Clark, veteran anatomist and instructor of the course, “ is that we cover artistic anatomy in both 2D and 3D, incorporating drawing and sculpture”. The course cycle of completion is one year. Students may join the class at any point in the year, and then, simply continue into the next cycle, until they’ve experienced every class.
“We are excited to be the first to offer a professional certificate, certified by NAAS, National Artistic Anatomy Society”, says Diane Heath. Heath Art offers Artistic Anatomy Drawing & Sculpture, as a certificate course, offering students a professional certificate of completion at the end of the course. Best for Professionals looking to boost their creative résumé and LinkedIn profile. Perfect for young professionals who would like to amp up and add to their current resume. Great for Teens, who want to supplement their high school transcripts with invaluable enrichment experience and credentials.
“Being certified by NAAS, the National Artistic Anatomy Society, is a game changer for us”, says Eugene Clark, “giving prospective students a valuable professional certificate, at a fraction of the cost of a similar college course”. However, most colleges that may offer artistic anatomy, usually include the instruction in a limited capacity, as part of a life drawing course. Most art colleges and universities are not offering a dedicated artistic anatomy course, especially one that incorporates a sculpture component.
The Fall 2025, Artistic Anatomy 1 year Professional Certificate Program, begins 9/4/25, and will regularly meet on Thursday, 6:00pm - 8:30pm, Moose Tree Studios, 3191 W Clarkston Rd., Lake Orion, MI 48362
